Nigel J. Bennett is an award-winning entrepreneur and a co-founder and principal owner of Aqua-Guard Spill Response Inc. (aquaguard.com). His company, a global leader in oil spill control, protects water, the world’s most precious resource.

For over thirty years, Aqua-Guard has designed, fabricated and supplied marine oil spill response equipment and provided related services to 3,000+ clients worldwide. Aqua-Guard’s patented oil skimming technology has been used to clean up spills from Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico and from Egypt to China. Both Nigel and Aqua-Guard have received multiple awards for their innovation, business excellence and entrepreneurialism.

Nigel has devoted his life to environmental and social responsibility and boldly advocates for “risking it all for what really matters” among the entrepreneurial tribes to which he belongs. For 18 years, he has been an active member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization and of MIT’s Gathering of Titans.

An avid surfer, mountain biker, climber, skier, hiker and scuba diver, Nigel lives in beautiful Vancouver, Canada with his wife, Rieko, and their daughter and two sons. The family, long-standing volunteers with the YWAM Homes of Hope program, journeys to Mexico each year to build homes for the homeless. To raise money and awareness of the plight of homeless youth, Nigel has also brought executives with him to sleep on the streets in his home town.

Nigel speaks and consults with entrepreneurs and young people worldwide about bringing their talents to solving some of our planet’s most pressing challenges. Whether he’s talking with business leaders, not-for-profit groups or a student audience, Nigel is committed to positive change. An active philanthropist, Nigel donates all profit from his book sales and speaking engagements to organizations that support poverty alleviation, human rights, social services and the environment.
